YYC supports a range of passive water sports including:

  • Sailing
  • Radio Control (RC) sailing
  • Dragon Boating
  • Canoe/Kayak/Paddleboard (SUP).

Joining or Renewing your membership

Membership fees, including any relevant affiliation fees ( VRYA, DBV), are due and payable from Date of  AGM

New to sailing

If you are new to sailing and are looking to join, you are welcome to come down to the club, have a look around and meet some of the members. We are sure you will experience the thrills, satisfaction and friendships that sailing can offer.

Once you have worked out that sailing at YYC is for you, simply download, complete and send us the relevant forms described 

Already a sailor

If you are already a sailor and not quite sure about joining, YYC offers any sailor the opportunity to join in on our club sailing events free of charge on three separate days. After that we trust you will have experienced the many benefits that our club and locality has to offer and have decided to join.

Radio Control Sailing

Radio Control (RC) sailing membership category includes Victorian Radio Yachting Association fees.

Safety Declarations 

Attention all sailors! Before you hit the water for the new season, you will also need to complete the appropriate safety declaration to suit your boat.

Completed declarations to be returned to the club with your membership forms, or handed to the OOD or a committee member when you next sail.

Attention All Skippers

All YYC skippers/owners must complete a Safety Declaration for their boat.

For Junior sailors, your parents or a responsible adult can help you fill one out.

To compete at YYC your boat must meet the relevant safety requirements and recommendations stated in the Racing Rules of Sailing and the Yachting Australia special regulations and safety prescriptions

There are different requirements to suit boats and expected racing categories. To assist skippers evaluate whether your boat meets the requirements, we have included checklists as a guide.

YYC skippers should choose the appropriate declaration and checklist from those available below:
